Vetsource

Digital Communications

Overview

Vetsource works with veterinary clinics across the United States to help them automate their systems and bring their practices online.  I was the lead in-house designer for Vetsource throughout the 2020-2021 pandemic and worked closely with the marketing team to evolve the look and feel of the brand across a variety of mediums. Below are just a few examples of the large scale projects we worked on.

PetMail

PetMail is just one of the many features that Vetsource provides to practices; a weekly, promotional email blast highlighting curated deals for veterinary clients. I worked as the lead designer in charge of updating the look of the PetMail campaigns.

Working with copy writers and the marketing director, we developed a new way of selecting photography and utilizing language that felt brighter, inclusive, joyful, and got right to the point. Alternating imagery with bright, fun graphics week to week brought more dynamism and personality to the communications, while still allowing emails to be white-labeled with data-merged content for each individual veterinary practice.

I developed a system of typography that allowed for punchy, legible headlines across mediums and a quarterly rotating color palette based on on seasonal and natural inspiration.

We applied this new design system not only to weekly automated email blasts, but also to print and social asset kits that were provided to the practices each month.

Whitepaper

Usually when you hear the word “whitepaper” you want to hit the snooze button on your alarm. But even the most dull-sounding of corporate assets can be made interesting by the thoughtful application of design.

This new whitepaper was designed in an effort to communicate the value of bringing veterinary practices online in response to the massive market shift to online during the Covid pandemic. The final 16 page document was meticulously created in collaboration with the content team, and subsequently formed the basis of a template document we generated for future whitepapers.

Selected pages can be seen below. You can access the full document by clicking here.

Conference Branding & Assets

Corporate conferences looked a little… different in 2020. Nevertheless Vetsource still hosted a number of corporate retreats and conferences where their 1000+ employees from all over the country came together (digitally) to educate and celebrate.

The Dare to Be Different Conference fully embraced the concept of the ever changing marketplace. I designed the visual brand identity for the conference and generated all of the marketing and event collateral for conference presenters and organizers. The design leverages the colorful palette of the Vetsource brand, and is augmented by the fun and whimsical pattern I created using the counters of the letterforms in the wordmark.

All of the files were created for adaptive use on a number of platforms, including powerpoint, figma, and 3 different email platforms. The template frameworks were designed to be usable and iterative for a huge number of presenters to use throughout the conference.
