Digital Communications

Overview

Vetsource works with veterinary clinics across the United States to help them automate their systems and bring their practices online. PetMail is just one of the many features that Vetsource provides to practices; a weekly, promotional email blast highlighting curated deals for veterinary clients. In 2021, I worked as the lead designer in charge of updating the look of the PetMail campaigns.

Simplified and Personal

As 2020 (finally) came to a close, the marketing department identified the need to evolve the look and feel of the weekly PetMail emails to be both more personal, and more succinct.

Working with copy writers and the marketing director, we developed a new way of selecting photography and utilizing language that felt brighter, inclusive, joyful, and got right to the point. Alternating imagery with bright, fun graphics week to week brought more dynamism and personality to the communications, while still allowing emails to be white-labeled for each individual veterinary practice. To accomplish this, I developed a system of typography that allowed for punchy, legible headlines across devices (with a mobile-first emphasis) and a quarterly rotating color palette that relies on seasonal trends and natural inspiration.

Petmail doesn’t stop at just email. Each month, we also create a suite of graphics for all Vetsource practices that can be distributed via social media, on company websites, in newsletters, and even printed and displayed in veterinary clinic waiting rooms.

As part of the new rollout, I concurrently developed a new look for this suite of graphics, which I produce each month.
