K+A Wedding
Experiential Design
Overview
So I got married in July of 2019. And not to brag or anything, but it was the best day of my life.
From start to finish, I planned and executed on almost every design aspect of the event: from the save the dates, invitations, and website, to the floral arrangements and decor, to directing the logistics of the entire evening. It was a massive effort that could not have happened without the work of many wonderful human beings. And it went off flawlessly.
The Invitations
The Save the Dates were printed on custom designed magnets. They were then inserted into a die-cut kraft paper card.
The invitations were all hand made. The information was letter-pressed using hand-set type on an 1800’s Chandler and Price letterpress at the studio of my good friend David Ashley. The envelopes were also blind debossed on the letterpress with our return address.
Two types of marbled paper were then folded around the invitation and wrapped in a gold or copper foil paper belly band with our monogram (which is also an ambigram).

Natural Elements
I personally attended to every detail of the experience of the space in the venue. I wanted the experience to reflect the level of care and love that I felt for my husband and everyone sharing the day with us.
The table centerpieces all featured unique rocks gathered from the garden of my grandmother who passed away about 9 months before my wedding. They also featured shells from her extensive collection. These were surrounded by olive and ruscus greenery and placed on a hand-made burlap table runner.
I sourced and selected all of the flowers used for bouquets, center pieces, etc. I designed the bridesmaids bouquets which used a copper, saturn-shaped macramé ring on which the bouquet was attached.
